The course teaches all the steps and nuances to creating a beautiful and great fitting dance-dress, with incredible 'flow' and 'feel', and that definitely avoids the 'pregnant dancer' look.
You will learn the secrets of correct layout, how to properly cut on the bias, how to find the true bias, how to "tear" the silk in order to find the true cross-wise grain, and much more.
Please Note! - the dress shown in the picture above was created from specially selected handpainted fabric.
This fabric is NOT available for the dress options in this class.
You will choose to create one of the following workshop options:
- Option #1 - create a gorgeous 2-layer, 1/2-circle, silk-chiffon empire-line dress, with a brocade bodice and shoulder wings.
The dress will be completed with Swarovski® rhinestones and a beautiful appliqué.
Color choices for the dress are Light Pink, White, or Natural White (Ivory).
- Option #2 - create a gorgeous 1-layer, full-circle, silk-chiffon empire-line dress, with a brocade bodice and shoulder wings.
Although the full-circle skirt is much more difficult to make flattering than the 1/2-circle, it has much more 'flow'.
The dress will be completed with Swarovski® rhinestones and a beautiful appliqué.
Color choices for the dress are Light Pink, White, or Natural White (Ivory).
- Option #3 - create a gorgeous 2-layer, full-circle, silk-chiffon empire-line dress, with a brocade bodice and shoulder wings.
With twice as much fabric in the skirt, this dress has a completely different 'flow' than the 1-layer full-circle version.
The dress will be completed with Swarovski® rhinestones and a beautiful appliqué.
Color choices for the dress are Light Pink, White, or Natural White (Ivory).
- Option #4 - create a beautiful 'Clara' nightgown, with a full-circle skirt,
made of 18mm silk georgette and an under-layer of 8mm silk chiffon.
The design is white with gold laces and trims.
Note: This dress is more time-consuming than the other options, you may not completely finish decorating it in class.
We supply the patterns, the fabric, the rhinestones, and the decorations.
And by the way, when properly designed and constructed (which you'll learn here), and depending on decorations, these dresses are normally worth a few hundred dollars and up.
