Learn the basics needed to grade an 8-piece ballet bodice pattern into a full range of additional sizes.

Not as difficult as you may think (especially when taught by a pro!), this is a skill that can save you much time and frustration (and money), and that you will use time and again. One caveat, the class uses a fair amount of basic math.

You will work with an 8-Piece bodice design, beginning from a size 3/4 (we supply the pattern). You will grade the pattern 'down' to sizes 1/2 and 0/0, and 'up' to sizes 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14.

We'll supply plenty of pattern paper and Oak Tag. The class includes a basic Grading booklet, complete with charts of figures needed to grade various bodice styles, written by Cheryl Beasley.

Note: the instruction is very specific for ballet bodices, and in particular an 8-piece bodice. Although the techniques can be transferred to other garments, the math will be different depending on several factors, such as: type of garment? number of seams? men's or child's or women's garment? type of fabric (woven, stretch, etc.)? and others.
