Learn a quick and easy method to create a 'no frills' rehearsal tutu, perfect for ... well, for rehearsals. But also for class, practice, staging, recitals, and budget-conscious performances!

Although not as intense a project as our "Classical Performance Tutu Construction" seminar, you will still learn many of the basic techniques of tutu construction, including skirt fitting, basque, construction, hooping, tacking, and such.

Combine this tutu with a quality bodice-style leotard, and you have a great costume! We highly recommend Mondor's Bodice/Bustier Leotard, available in Adult and Children's sizes - see our Women's Mondor Leotards or Children's Leotards page for more details.

The main differences between this class and our 'Performance Tutu' class? The tutu skirt does not have as many layers, does not have butt or panty ruffles, the basque will be a 'stretchy' basque of heavy-lycra or powernet and will not be corded, and the tutu is designed to be worn with a leotard. Plus, the class is shorter, costs less, and the technique is faster and less intense.

The course includes a copy of the latest edition of "The Classical Tutu Book", by Claudia Folts, with pattern for a 'standard' Tutu Panty. We supply all net and panty materials.

This is a great class for the 'total tutu-beginner', as well as for anyone wanting to learn a 'quick' method of tutu-construction. We've budgeted 2 days for the class, but depending on your prior tutu-making experience and your sewing skills, you may complete this project in less time.
